The AT&T Building, formerly known as the Sony Building, is located on Madison Avenue between 55th and 56th Avenue. It is a 37 story building designed by the same people that designed the Lipstick Building, Philip Johnson and John Burgee. The building was critizized and created a controversy for it's ornament at the top. It was often called the "Chippendale Ornament." This building is a great example of postmodern architecture.
